Overview: We are currently seeking a talented and experienced PHP web programmer to support the development of the our website development process. This developer will be required to work with the existing web team to tackle the more in-depth PHP programming and customization required to actualize our client’s needs. We are looking for a developer that knows PHP from the ground up and can dive into an open source application and customize exactly to fit. We currently use WordPress 3.0, MU, and BuddyPress for the majority of our new programs and experience with these applications is a must.

Experience:

Experience is a requisite for this role, this developer must have a minimum of 4 years experience in the commercial industry, or an equivalent degree. A portfolio of professional online examples is a must.

Required

  • Strategic recommendations for site deployment and open source CMS integration
  • Database architecture and schematic diagrams of relational structure
  • Installation of required technologies on server
  • Development of plug-ins and modules to support required customization
  • Modification and management of MySQL database
  • Working with web team to ensure accessibility, brand integration and customization along the way
  • Performance testing and server management (software)
  • Security and SSL management

Compensation:

  • First month – 20 hours a week @ $20 / per hour
  • Second month – 20 hours a week @ $30 / per hour
  • Next 4 months – 30 hours a week @ $35 / per hour ($4200 / per month)

Note: Based on performance and team synergy, there would be an opportunity for a longer-term contract with the organization.
